One of the most basic and critical skills in watercolor is learning how to navigate your way through a wash layer. Carolyn Latanision, CM, will demonstrate how to do layered washes with a planned project, one that can be designed individually, but approached in the same manner regarding this particular technique over the course of three classes, open to beginners and experts alike!

The class will share results for group critique, as there is much that can be learned from the insight of others. If you can successfully handle this technique, you are well on our way to handling watercolor

The artist will provide several videos to demonstrate mixing and applications of paint, along with designing the project. Both before and after the video viewing there will be time for questions and discussion. She will also demonstrate from her work desk to answer questions about paint and color mixing, etc. After the session, the videos will be available on YouTube for a short time so everyone can review them if needed.

November 5th, DAY ONE -- 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM; The class will meet and talk briefly about materials and levels of concern, after which Carolyn will show several videos about mixing washes and laying down consecutive washes, with questions and answers in between.
November 12th, DAY TWO -- 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM; The class will share everyone’s results, that have been emailed to me in advance, for group critique.  Carolyn Latanision will then show another video so that they can finish the project.

November 19th, DAY THREE -- 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM; The finished results will again be shared along with group critique.  The artist will then show a video of several ways this technique can be used differently.
