Boston-based artist B. Lynch will give a virtual artist’s talk via Zoom webinar in conjunction with her exhibition New Gilded Age on view at the Cantor Art Gallery, College of the Holy Cross.
Welcome to a New Gilded Age! You are entering a world created by artist B. Lynch, inhabited by the opposed factions of Reds and Greys. Privileged and powerful, the Reds absorb and consume all of the wealth and mobility. Meanwhile, the oppressed Greys struggle in a post-apocalyptic landscape to make ends meet. The archetypal characters appear in various guises throughout Lynch’s multi-media extravaganza, where they interact with and impact one another, creating a multivalent commentary on the corrosive nature of income and power disparity.
