Pro Arte Salon Concert 4 - Thursday November 5, 8pm

Presented by Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston at Online/Virtual Space

As 2020 draws to a close, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra continues to celebrate Beethoven in honor of the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth.  Beethoven's sonatas for cello and piano bookend the span of his artistic journey. The early G Minor Sonata is fiery and expansive yet steeped in the classical world. By contrast, the compact Sonata in C Major reveals the visionary sound world of Beethoven's later years. A charming set of variations based on a duet from Mozart's The Magic Flute rounds out the program.  Pro Arte cellist Aron Zelkowicz is joined by special guest pianist Max Levinson, a Member Musician of the Boston Chamber Music Society.

BEETHOVEN: 7 Variations on Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte Wo046
BEETHOVEN: Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 2 in G Minor, Op. 5 No. 2
BEETHOVEN: Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 4 in C Major, Op. 102 No. 1
