Emotion Revolution Virtual Art Show

Presented by Dorchester Art Project at Online/Virtual Space

Emotion Revolution is a virtual multimedia exhibition curated by student curator Mary Morris Evans and co-produced by Dorchester Art Project and Northeastern University’s College of Art, Media, and Design. This collection of artworks is created exclusively by artists under 30 years old, collected by an age-restricted call for art that went out to local organizations and universities in the fall of 2019. The work documents how these twenty-two emerging artists in the Boston area cope with the chaos of the present and the inscrutability of the future through their work in a wide variety of media, including sculpture, textile work, graphic design, painting, and illustration.

By bringing together emotionally charged and socially conscious artists, Emotion Revolution seeks to help artists and viewers alike find hope, or at least solace, in the fact that despite everything, we are not alone. Everyone has to form healthy ways to process their emotions in order to continue moving forward. Capturing their struggles through their art, these artists’ work reminds us that life comes in waves and cycles; life comes in revolutions.
Although this project was created before we could even begin to imagine our current situation, the mission of the show has never been more relevant than right now. We are currently living in a time where coping with external forces that we cannot control is absolutely crucial.
The artists participating are as follows:

Lauren Alindogan, Keith Becker-Lazore, Kuresse Bolds, Cali Cardenas, Jaina Cipriano, Sumi Dey, Ariel Di’Orio, Roseanne Fawzi, Emma Gelbard, Noah Grigni, Madeline Lee, Frantz Lexy, Maia Majumder, Jo Nanajian, Abby Neale, Naijah Nine, nwaobiala, Anela Oh, Fang See Yan Shirley, Cherish Springer, Amelia White aka MEELZ, and Lyna Zidane
