Art Matters - FAM Video Web Series

Art Matters - FAM Video Web Series

Presented by Fitchburg Art Museum at Fitchburg Art Museum

Art Matters is created and hosted by FAM’s Terrana Assistant Curator, Marjorie Rawle. Rawle notes: "The idea for this series is rooted in my own belief that the visual arts are not expendable or 'non-essential' in any way, but in fact are extremely important in times of crisis and confusion. Artists view and analyze the world in visionary ways that in turn help us to see, think, and act differently, which is proving to be essential right now. It's my hope that this video series, by centering on the voices of artists and art lovers, can offer some insight, connection, comfort, and inspiration in these uncertain times."

The video series kicks off with behind-the-scenes interviews with artists from the current Fitchburg Art Museum exhibition After Spiritualism: Loss and Transcendence in Contemporary Art. Now live: discussions with activist artist Juan Sánchez and multimedia storyteller Candice Ivy.

Fitchburg Art Museum will continue to release Art Matters content every three weeks on social media. Coming soon on Friday, September 4th, hear an exclusive interview with printmaker and installation artist Imna Arroyo. Tune in to the series on FAM’s YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, then come to experience the artwork in person. Fitchburg Art Museum is open with free admission through September.
