Dr. Steven Young, a member of the Bridgewater State University music faculty, plays the Great Organ at Methuen Memorial Music Hall.
Steven Young DMA, AAGO, serves as a professor of music at Bridgewater State University where he teaches courses in music theory and analysis, and conducts the choral ensembles. Dr. Young holds degrees in organ performance from Barrington College, New England Conservatory, and Boston University. As a performer, he has played throughout the United State and in Europe. As a scholar, his research has primarily focused on early twentieth century French organists and composers. His research articles and reviews have appeared in The Diapason and The Choral Journal. He has presented numerous workshops, lectures, and choral reading sessions for the American Guild of Organists, the American Choral Directors' Association, and the Organ Historical Society. He has also recorded several of the organ works of Boston-area composer Henry M. Dunham. He is currently the organist at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Providence, RI.
