Raymond Hawkins plays music by Louis Vierne, Charles-Marie Widor, Marcel Dupre, and Rene Vierne on the Great Organ at Methuen Memorial Music Hall.
Raymond Hawkins is currently the Director of Music at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Marblehead, MA. He was a Kenan Scholar at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he studied with Dr. Timothy Olsen and received his undergraduate and high school diplomas. Since beginning organ lessons at age eleven, he has also studied with Donna Swanson, Angela Kraft Cross, and Porter Remington. Raymond also studied abroad in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and the Netherlands, advancing his skills as both a musician and language aficionado. As a concert organist, he has played in venues across the United States, from the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption in San Francisco to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Charleston, SC. This year, he is giving a round of concerts celebrating the sesquicentennial of French organist and composer Louis Vierne's birth.
