Class Description
Soldering is one of the most involved and challenging process of jewelry fabrication. Over the course of two days, you will learn about the jewelry torch system and safety, different types of flame and torch size, understanding melting points in solders, annealing and the various soldering surfaces and flux. If time permits, we will tackle a ring fusing project with Argentium.

Class Goals
Learn when to use Pick, Chip, and Stick soldering methods to minimize cleanup. We will solder bezels, jump rings and a ring, plus sweat soldering, tubing to sheet, and score a small square box and solder. Learn for yourself how heat moves and how solders actually work. The goal is to empower you to design and lay out your work for maximum workflow and minimize cleanup.
This a skills project class giving you confidence and the knowledge in tackling any soldering job

Materials Fee
$65 payable to the Instructor. Students will be provided with a kit including solder, copper, brass, sterling, and Argentium. and a detailed handout.
