Movement for Kids and Families

Presented by Arlington Center for the Arts at Online/Virtual Space

At this time, many don't have access to outdoor space for regular activity-- but don't fret! With a unique mix of simple yoga, stage movement, and mindfulness, I'm here to help you make the most of your indoor space while keeping active and present during social isolation. Do you have experience with movement courses? Great! Never taken a movement class in your life? Even better! This workshop will include activity of varying levels, all of which can be adjusted for the physical needs of the participants-- the only prerequisite is some free space and an open mind! This course welcomes ages 8 and up. Younger children are welcome, but need to be accompanied by a family member. This course is online.

Special Notes

This class is available online and uses Zoom as a platform. You will receive instructions on how to join your class via email.

Macey Jennings holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Salem State University, with a double-minor in Creative Writing and Dramatic Literature. During her studies, Macey placed her focus on the theatrical fields of movement and devising, and the literary fields of poetry and playwriting. Jennings has directed at Next Generation Theatre, instructing students ranging from age 6 - 12 in theatre arts, culminating in three live productions per year. She enjoys engaging students in fun and creative activities, guiding them through rehearsals, and preparing them for performances. She was also a YMCA guest instructor at the Nathaniel Bowditch Elementary School, where she taught kindergarten theatre. Most recently, her work with History Alive, Inc. has expanded her abilities to include historical interpretation in the theatrical arts.
