Kinetic Sculpture: Mobile Workshop

Kinetic Sculpture: Mobile Workshop

Presented by deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum at Online/Virtual Space

This workshop explores concepts of movement in sculpture. With a true sense of play, 20th century artist Alexander Calder created works that both physically move and lend themselves to a sense of motion and balance. Inspired by works from the collection and simple materials, participants will learn the basic mechanics of kinetic sculpture and construct their own free standing or hanging sculptures that balance and move.

DeCordova is pleased to offer this creative workshop that celebrates kinetic sculpture and draws inspiration from artists like Alexander Calder and George Rickey.

This interactive workshop is open to students age 13 and up. It is limited to 12 participants and is offered via zoom
