The Effect Archive Performance

Presented by Gloucester Stage at Gloucester Stage Theater

Written by Lucy Prebble, directed by Sam Weisman.

Hearts racing. Minds reeling. Knees buckling. Connie and Tristan have palpable chemistry – or is it a side effect of a new antidepressant? They are volunteers in a clinical trial, but their sudden and illicit romance forces the supervising doctors to face off over the ethical consequences of their work. THE EFFECT takes on pill-popping culture with humor and scintillating drama.

Originally presented at Gloucester Stage in 2017 (Regional Premiere) to critical acclaim, this archival viewing provides audiences a second chance to experience THE EFFECT. Featuring a star-studded cast including Saturday Night Live alum Brad Hall, Academy Award nominated actress Lindsay Crouse, Susannah Hoffman, and Mickey Solis.
