Loach returns to form in this empathetic, intimate family drama about the British working class that exposes the dark side of the so-called “gig economy.” Paul Laverty wrote the screenplay for the film, as well as for Loach's Ae Fond Kiss shown by Belmont World Film in 2005. Laverty also wrote The Olive Tree, shown in 2017.
