Minni Make + Play virtual workshops are designed to keep little ones ages 1.5–5 creating from the comfort of home. Each themed workshop focuses on skill development, simple repurposed materials and unique ways to engage with our environments.
In Minni Make + Play – Shadow Boxes (virtual) students + caregivers will transform a simple box into a bright work of abstract art. Instructor Maria will begin with a book reading before showing students how to collage, layer and reimagine 2D and 3D objects.
Materials Needed

Scavenger hunt materials: 3D objects that can be glued inside the shadow box, such as small rocks, shells, beads or old jewelry and pom poms

1 cereal box (or any kind of box) with the front or back cut off

Colorful paper, fabric, ribbon, yarn – anything 2D to collage with!

White tempera paint

Tempera paint in any color or food coloring

Elmer’s Glue

Small bowl to mix paint and glue in

Paint brush, cotton ball or sponge to paint with
