Self Portraits with Recycled Materials (Grades 3-5)

Self Portraits with Recycled Materials (Grades 3-5)

Presented by deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum at Online/Virtual Space

What is a self-portrait? What can it look like? How is it made? In this inspiring, creative workshop, we’ll look at all kinds of self-portraits by contemporary artists, like Rona Pondick’s Otter and Reflection II by Antony Gormley. Using techniques of drawing, painting, building, collaging and sculpting, students will create unique artworks that represent themselves as individuals!

Materials List: We know it’s a difficult time to source new art materials, so if you don’t have something, we’ll discuss creative substitutions.

• Large paper

• Paint

• Magazines or similar collage material

• Scissors

• Glue

• Tape

• Pencil

• Markers, colored pencils, crayons

• Buttons, pipe cleaner, tissue paper, bread bag tags

• Detergent bottle

The link to the zoom meeting will be sent to registered participants at least one day prior to the class.

This interactive class is capped at 12 students.
