First Lutheran Church’s twelfth annual all-day celebration of the birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach, featuring concerts, organ recitals, a special children’s event, and a German lunch.
UPDATE: The Bach Birthday has had to be canceled because of the coronavirus. We are sorry to miss out on what promised to be a great day of music. But mark your calendars: the Boston Bach Birthday will return on Saturday, March 20, 2021!
First Lutheran’s twelfth annual celebration of the birthday of the greatest of all Lutheran composers, Johann Sebastian Bach, will be on Saturday, March 21 at First Lutheran Church of Boston. Beginning at 8am and featuring concerts, organ recitals, and of course the famous German lunch (tickets $15, available at the door), the day will end with a service of Solemn Vespers at 5pm. As always, all musical events are free and open to the public, and all may come and go as able.
Performances will be given throughout the day by Jonathan Wessler, Maren Rothfritz, Christiaan Teeuwsen, Jo Ellen Lindeman, Justin Lee, Karen Electra Christianson, Michael Ochoa and friends, the Musicians of the Old Post Road, Kate Arndt, and the First Lutheran Church choir and orchestra.
All musical events are free, and patrons may come and go as they please. Balcony seating is available for $20 at the door. Tickets for the German lunch are available for $15 at the door.
