An Evening with Grammy Award–Winning Recording Engineer Ducky Carlisle

Join Winchester Community Music School for an evening of discussion with renowned recording artist Ducky Carlisle and WCMS faculty member Scott Janovitz. The discussion will cover the history of audio recording, from the earliest analog recordings to modern digital techniques, and the American recording industry, drawing examples from some well-known records and artists.

Ducky Carlisle is a three-time Grammy Award–winning recording engineer who has worked with a long list of musicians including Mandy Moore, BB King, Susan Tedeschi, Rooney, and the Figgs. Scott Janovitz is a Boston-based musician who has been a member of The Great Bandini, The Confidence Men, The Figgs, and Graham Parker’s touring band The Latest Clowns. His 2010 album “Crashing the Party” received a Boston Music Award and was cited on the Wall Street Journal’s top ten list of Best Music of 2010.
