Ron Diamond - Visiting Artist Talk

Ron Diamond contributes to the fabric of the animation industry and brings awareness of the short form by annually presenting his curated program, The Animation Show of Shows since 1999 to the animation community and in 2014/2015 in 59 venues to over 14,000 attendees and broadening it’s release to the general public in 2015 in dozens of theatrical venues in North America and around the world.

 

Diamond is the founder and Executive Producer of Acme Filmworks, Inc., an award-winning animation production company specializing in commercials, short films, television series, feature films, and distribution. Established in 1990, and now in its 26th year of operation, Acme Filmworks has produced works with some of the most notable animation directors from around the world. Diamond produced the Academy Award-nominated short film Nibbles (2003) and the animated feature film Drawn From Memory (1995) for PBS’ American Playhouse. He was also the executive producer of the WB Networks series Drew Carey’s Green Screen Show (2004.)

 

Diamond has lectured at leading animation schools and has served as a juror and guest speaker at numerous film events and festivals. He has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Shorts Films and Feature Animation Branch since 2002. He serves on several Academy Executive Committees and Sub-committees.
