10:00 am – 3:30 pm (or while supplies last) No-Sew Fabric Flowers | Studio A
Make your own no-sew fabric flower pin inspired by the installation piece “Once Was”, by artist Jodi Colella from our exhibition Human Impact. Limit one per person, please.

Appropriate for all ages, young children will require adult assistance.

11:00 am – 12:30 pm Among The Stars! Celebrating Dr. Mae Jemison | Great Room

Families are invited for storytelling, a teach-in and craft-making activity to imagine how they can reach for the stars in their own lives. Join Boston-based social justice project Wee The People to celebrate Black history and identity with a brand new edition of their Wee Wear the Crowns series, Among the Stars: Celebrating Dr. Mae Jemison! In this interactive workshop, kids will explore Dr. Jemison’s incredible journey as the first Black woman astronaut to go to space. A chemical engineer, dancer, physician, and teacher, Jemison is an inspiration who defied expectations and paved her own path to the stars. Maximum attendance 50 children.
