Muddy Mathilda doesn’t want to take a bath in this gentle story performed by Margaret Moody Puppets
Mathilda loves to play outside with her friend Doggie, and getting muddy doesn’t bother her at all. But she won’t take a bath. Mathilda’s family asks the magical Mrs. Piggle Wiggle for help persuading Mathilda to come clean. This gentle show for preschool-aged children is adapted from a Mrs. Piggle Wiggle story by Betty MacDonald, and is performed with needle-felted animal puppets. Come for the show, stay to play with puppets. Best for ages 4 and up.
Margaret Moody has performed hand puppet shows in schools, libraries, community centers and private events for more than 25 years. She studied traditional Taiwanese hand puppetry – Bu Dai Xi – with the I Wan Jan Troupe in Taiwan, and loves to include some of the art’s lively acrobatics in her own stories. This performance is part of Puppet Pop-up, a week of creative puppetry events presented by Artbeat and Margaret Moody Puppets.
