Arlington – Church of Our Saviour will host Joyful Voices of Inspiration at 21 Marathon St., Arlington, on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 4 p.m. to celebrate diversity this Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and to support both organizations' missions.

Joyful Voices of Inspiration is a nondenominational community gospel choir made up of singers of all ages, cultures, and spiritual backgrounds. Joyful Voices performs black gospel music and, in doing so, promotes an appreciation of gospel music as both a powerful inspirational medium and a unique Afro-American art form. Their efforts are geared toward charitable, educational, and cultural purposes.

Joyful Voices of Inspiration is a 40+ member group of singers who love to sing gospel music. Members of the choir are high school and college students, as well as adults and seniors from a variety of Greater Boston towns and suburbs. Reverend Malia Crawford, a longtime member of Joyful Voices and Rector at Our Saviour, describes this annual fund-raising concert as “a great event for kids.”

Theologically and liturgically progressive, but grounded in the tradition of the Episcopal Church, Church of Our Saviour embraces diversity boldly as we seek continued spiritual growth and evolving revelation of God’s call to our community. We offer safety to those marginalized by society or situation; a contemplative environment for those who need to grieve, to heal, or to be nourished; and encouragement and guidance for those discerning their spiritual path and seeking a spiritual home. We seek ecumenical interactions, as well as partnerships with public, private, and Episcopal organizations as a means of embodying our commitment to social justice.
