Music of Bach and Telemann
The masterworks of Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Philipp Telemann defined the German Baroque. The two composers maintained a close friendship and mutual admiration during their prolific careers, with Telemann even serving as godfather to Bach’s renowned son, Carl Philipp Emanuel. The exciting young instrumentalists of Nevermind explore the musical riches of these two masters, including such highlights as Bach’s Trio Sonata in G major, BWV 1039, and selections from Telemann’s exquisite Paris Quartets. Hailed as a “breath of fresh air in the field of early music” (Wales Arts Review), these four friends met while studying in Paris and recognized their shared passions and vibrant virtuosity. A hit at the 2017 Festival, they bring their thoroughly engaging mix of technical expertise and relaxed charm to their BEMF concert series début.
