JUNE 27-JULY 2BostonGuitarFest: “Feria Latina” celebrates Latin-American influence on the guitar with a colorful variety of concerts, seminars, masterclasses, and competitions. In the interest of "opening the borders" of classical music, most concerts are free and open to the public.

 

Artistic director and virtuoso classical guitarist Eliot Fisk, with festival cosponsors New England Conservatory, and Northeastern University bring back the Boston-based festival for music lovers of all ages and backgrounds. For the 12th annual festival, renowned artists, students, teachers, and guitar enthusiasts will come to Boston from all over the globe to hear world-class performances and share their appreciation of the classical guitar and its place in the musical landscape. The festival is dedicated to the memory of Venezuelan guitar legend Alirio Diaz.

Eliot Fisk performs works evocative of South America, including favorites from Brazilian composer Heitor Villa Lobos, and the Villa Lobos guitar concerto in a new arrangement for string quartet.
