We Move in Color (WMIC) is a musical revue that captures the African America narrative through music, poetry, dance, and visual art. The revue features the visual art of world renowned painter, Paul Goodnight; images from award-winning photographer, Lou Jones; choreography from New York Times critically acclaimed choreographer, Sheryl Thomas; renowned tap-dancer, Maurice Chestnut; and Soul Steps trailblazer, Maxine Lyle. The revue’s soundtrack is produced by GRAMMY Award winning songwriter and producer, Gen Rubin. It features recording artist, Anita Faye and the poetic voice of writer, Robby Thomas. The revue is designed by Emmy award-winning Story Designer in the performing and media arts, Wyatt Jackson.

The performance brings to life a narrative that illuminates, challenges, empowers, and inspires on a multi-generational level. It tells the story of pre-colonial Africa through the epochs of the middle-passage, the struggles and triumphs of modern America, and the unapologetic aspirations of an emerging and increasingly digital future.

The project launches in Boston in honor of the significant artistic contributions of Paul Goodnight, Lou Jones, and Wyatt Jackson.
