The Umbrella Stage Company, a part of the expansive multifunction Umbrella Community Arts Center (formerly Emerson Umbrella) in Concord, is dedicated to producing Bold, Daring, and Innovative theatre for audiences throughout the Greater Boston and Metrowest region.
Formally launched by The Umbrella’s award-winning Performing Arts Program in early 2019, The Stage Company will host its inaugural season as a professional company in a brand-new, multi-theater complex constructed at 40 Stow Street in the heart of the Concord Center Cultural District.
One of the most exciting additions to the region’s performing arts landscape in the last decade, this new facility will house two new venues, a 350 seat main stage and a 100 seat flexible black box space, with state of the art technology, support spaces, and a superior audience experience.
The Umbrella Performing Arts Program also features film screenings, concerts, community collaborations and other special events, and is in turn part of The Umbrella’s programming which includes Arts Education, Arts and Environment, Arts Galleries, Artist residencies, and Studios for 50+ Artists.
