The Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra

The Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra is a music student organization that delivers high quality music performances in its home at Sanders Theatre at Harvard University. Founded in 1808, HRO has great historical significance, predating the New York Philharmonic and greatly influencing the founding of the Harvard Glee Club and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. HRO is also famously known for being the first and oldest symphony orchestra in the United States. Throughout the 20th century, HRO has acquired a domestic and international reputation through its concerts and tours. HRO is comprised of Harvard undergraduates and is led by its music director Federico Cortese.
