ArtsBoston is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the arts.

The Sons of Liberty Festival celebrates the 240th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, and the independence and courage of Boston’s residents, with music performed by local musicians and their friends. We are presenting 27 concerts, over the course of 10 days, in 2 churches, from July 12 to 21. For all the details please visit our facebook page at:

The original Sons of Liberty were a group of Boston residents who insisted that their voices be heard, who rejected the tyranny of those foreign interests and native sympathizers who sought to impose their will upon the American colonists. They are best known for throwing a tea party, on December 16, 1773. These Sons of Liberty included Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Patrick Henry, and Paul Revere.

We 21st century sons of liberty partner with our sisters in emulation of the homegrown initiative and risk-taking of our forebears. We dare to champion music that is unknown and rarely heard…because we know it is good, and because it speaks our truth. We enjoy a diversity of musical tastes, and so we are showcasing the most delicate chamber music, powerful opera and oratorio, joyous jazz and Latin pizazz.
