ArtsBoston is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the arts.

Semiosis Quartet is dedicated to championing new music with the passion it deserves, having engaged in a wide range of performances and collaborations that support this endeavor. Semiosis appeared at Tanglewood with Concert Theatre Works in the initial production of The Chevalier. They have collaborated with Nia Imani Franklin, Ogni Suono, and Infrequent Seams, among others, at venues and festivals including National Sawdust, Oh My Ears!, the International Alliance for Women in Music, New Music Gathering, the Re:Sound, the Cortona Sessions for New Music, and the Deer Valley Music Festival. They received a grant from the American Music Project to present a program of American women, including Florence Price, Ruth Crawford Seeger, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, Shelley Washington, and Caroline Shaw. Semiosis is on the faculty at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s High School Composition Intensive, and has worked with students and faculty at many colleges and universities.
