Founded in 1981 to foster the development of new and experimental work for radio and sound arts. New Radio and Performing Arts, Inc. extended its mandate to include networked art, launching its TURBULENCE.ORG website in 1996. TURBULENCE commissions, exhibits, and archives works that explore networked technologies, and supports experimentation with real-time, multilocation, musical performance events.
