Mess + Finesse

Mess + Finesse is a company that makes original comedic content, and teaches others how to do the same! Our mission is to provide up and coming comedy voices the tools to learn and create. We believe artists shouldn’t have to leave our city to create professional level work.

In our production studio in Union Square we maintain a professional podcast recording studio, a video production and editing room, and a small stage for use in both classes and online broadcasts. We use this space to create original content that we then host on our channels (twitch, youtube, social media, and podcast providers). It is a place for artists to experiment and create under one unified label. We’ve often described it as a comedy “label”. We foster artists and own the studio to help them create their work. Additionally, we mount stage productions such as our flagship show “Somerville Night Live” which we do at The Rockwell (it’s exactly what it sounds like!)

The other half of our business is education! We offer affordable classes on how to write comedy and create content. We offer these classes both online and in-person. Mess + Finesse also maintains a core set of programs (a podcast, live broadcast, and social media) specifically designed to feature new and diverse voices on a regular basis. We have also partnered with Union Comedy to help facilitate their improv curriculum.

Mess + Finesse is owned and operated by Kenny Gray. He has completed training at The UCB Theatre in NYC, has a Masters Degree in Business from Boston University, and is a member of ImprovBoston’s Mainstage Company.
