The Hometown Hero Crew is an alliance of artists determined to rise up in their respective communities as the standard for music and culture. Headed by Cyrus Brooks and Nico ‘aka.Def’ Pires, HHC was created when a group of artists realized that as Boston MCs, they didn’t have ‘heroes’ to look up to in the way other major hip-hop regions did. From New York’s Biggie to Atlanta’s OutKast to California’s N.W.A., it seems the majority of aspiring MCs have people to look up to. Massachusetts doesn’t. The Hometown Heroes intend to change that.
