Firebrand Concert Series

A group of greater Boston’s most accomplished classical music performers is choosing Malden as its stage for a new concert series. Firebrand Concert Series is performing music ranging from tango to string quartets at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Parish at 26 Washington Street in Malden. Why Malden? Residents of Malden deserve access to quality, innovative, and fun music programming in their hometown. Ms. Golden and her colleagues hope to meet the local need for meaningful experiences with classical music, especially as there is no string instrument instruction in Malden’s public schools or music centers. The six resident musicians chosen for the 2011-2012 Firebrand season are cellist Diana Golden, violinists Nina Bishop Nunn, Kay Rooney Matthews, and Daniel Broniatowski, violist Chris Nunn, and pianist Synthia Sture. Firebrand musicians have all received both undergraduate and graduate professional training in music performance, from internationally-renowned music schools such as New England Conservatory, the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, San Francisco Conservatory, and Boston University.
