Heritage Museums & Gardens
Heritage Museums & Gardens celebrates American culture and inspires people of all ages to explore, discover and learn together. Located on 100 acres of gardens and nature trails, Heritage holds a significant collection of specialty gardens, water features, and sculpture. Hidden Hollow, an interactive family-friendly area, allows for exploration of the natural world and learning about the environment. Heritage boasts three gallery buildings housing automobiles, American folk art, historical artifacts, a vintage carousel, and special exhibitions.
The 2016 special exhibitions include Cut! Costume and the Cinema (April 16 - October 10), featuring award-winning costumes from Hollywood films; Natural Threads (June 4 – October 10), artistic textile creations designed to fit in with Heritage's natural terrain and landscape; The Heritage Collection (April 16 – October 10), featuring beloved Heritage-owned artifacts in a new display, including American paintings, rare artifacts and the famed military miniatures; and Driven to Collect (April 16 – October 10), featuring an impressive collection of antique automobiles within a replica of the Shaker Round Barn in Hancock, Massachusetts. Heritage is also home to The Adventure Park at Heritage, featuring interpretive trails and five "aerial" trails with rope walks, moving planks, tunnels, zip lines, and other similar features.
