What Has Your Gallery Done For You Lately?

While many artists are interested in gaining professional representation for their work, few artists are particularly critical of the galleries that come to show them. Galleries do, however, have responsibilities to the artists they represent and artists should regularly examine how their galleries treat them. In this interactive talk, gallerist Michael Rose will discuss what artists should look for in a quality relationship with a commercial gallery, and how they can build better and more transparent relationships with gallerists and art dealers.  The program includes a lively question and answer period. Michael Rose is an art historian, journalist, gallerist, and appraiser based in Southern New England. Currently the Gallery Manager at the Providence Art Club, he is a passionate speaker on topics related to art history and art business.
