Coro Allegro, Boston’s LGBTQ+ and allied classical chorus, premieres a major new work by acclaimed Syrian American composer Kareem Roustom, together with lyrical contemporary psalm settings by Shawn Kirchner.
Join Coro Allegro and Artistic Director David Hodgkins for We Will Rise, featuring the world premiere of Rage Against the tyrant(s) by Kareem Roustom. Based on street chants of the "Arab Spring" and Iraqi and Syrian American poetry, Roustom’s work bears witness to tyranny, foreign and domestic, and the human cost of the wars that have driven so many refugees from their homelands.
