The performance aims to tell the story of how Haiti can still be home even to those who have immigrated to the United States, and how dance can help one stay connected to their spiritual home, to others, and to themselves.
Jean Appolon Expressions dance company presents Vwayaj (“Travel” in Haitian Kreyol), its latest portrayal of the immigrant experience. After years of political tremor, Appolon has woven his personal story together with those of other immigrants into this evening-length production.
