Enroll Now for a 2-day BMS Midwinter Workshop! Vento Chiaro Presents the Wind Chamber Music of Anton Reicha. Boston’s acclaimed professional wind quintet Vento Chiaro (which includes BMS faculty members Anne Howarth & Sam Childers) presents a workshop for teen and adult wind musicians on the music of Anton Reicha. Reicha was a prolific early adopter of the wind quintet instrumentation for chamber music. His music is varied, melodic, and accessible for student musicians. In addition to preparing and performing some of Reicha’s music, students will attend sessions on the history of the wind quintet (with a particular focus on Reicha’s role in the development of the set instrumentation), technical challenges specific to playing in a wind quintet, and general chamber music skills.
