Urban Naturalis: Photography by Alex Tisserand

“Urban Naturalis” features two series of photographs: one series taken in cities around the world, including Paris, New York, and Boston, and the other featuring natural landscapes from the USA, France, and Greece. The colors of the city show similarities with colors of nature. The juxtaposition of the photographs points up the contrasts between the stone and steel of cities and the organic and seemingly ephemeral substances of nature. The photographs illustrate the impact of time on both environments, demonstrating that nature is eternal and that the civilizations represented by urban centers can disappear.
