THE SUM OF OUR PARTS

The Charles River Wind Ensemble performs the first concert of its 2019-2020 season entitled “THE SUM OF OUR PARTS” in Lexington on October 20. Led by Artistic Director Matthew Marsit, this concert shows off the versatility and musicality of different sections of our ensemble individually and taken as a whole. The brass and saxophone sections are featured in Three Sketches for Band by Luxembourg-born composer Marco Pütz. The Serenade in Bb K 361 “Gran Partita” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart puts the woodwind section on display, with an assist by the horns. To bring the performance to a close, the entire ensemble is reunited to perform Symphony #6 by American composer Vincent Persichetti.
