Teen Intro to Voiceover (with an in-studio recording session) Ages 12-17

Longtime voice-over artists and producers Jordan Rich and Ken Carberry from Chart Productions will offer an introduction to the voice-over industry for teens ages 12-17.

This two-day workshop will involve a one-day session at our studio in Boston Casting, and another session at Chart Productions in Braintree. This workshop will include the necessary skillsets, advice on creating your own home studio and tips on marketing your services (need for proper demos, using social media, etc.) Effective breathing and vocal exercises, microphone technique, cold reading skills, copy interpretation and the importance of developing “an ear” for your own voice will be covered. Copy and exercise handouts will be provided, and students will be able to practice voicing various types of commercial and narration scripts during the online sessions. The second day of class will involve a trip to the studio to record two copy samples, one commercial and one narration. Chart will fully post-produce these to provide students with a professionally recorded example of their work.
