His compact disc recordings include the complete organ works of Johannes Brahms, Samuel Barber, Franz Lachner, Felix Mendelssohn, Felix Nowowiejski, Olivier Messiaen, Horatio Parker, Josef Gabriel Rheinberger and Robert Schumann. His teachers have included Hans Martin Theopold and Friedrich Wilhelm Schnurr (piano); Gaston Litaize and Michael Schneider (organ); and Arno Forchert (musicology). For many years the director of the Musikschule Coesfeld and a faculty member at the Hochschule fur Musik Detmold, Rudolf Innig now lives in the city of Bielefeld.
