Summer Series Organ Concert - John Walthausen

John Walthausen earned his Bachelor’s degree from Oberlin Conservatory of Music.  He then studied at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris with Olivier Latry and Michel Bouvard, earning a Master’s degree with highest honors.  Later, he received a Master’s degree in historical keuboards from the Schola Cantorum in Basel, Switzerland, where he studied harpsichord with Jorg-Andreas Botticher and organ with Lorenzo Ghielmi.

An experienced performer, Walthausen has played recitals throughout the United States and Europe, including New York, Boston, Cleveland, Albany, Washington D.C., Paris, Chartres, Poitiers, Milan, Innsbruck, and Basel.  From 2015 to 2016, he served as Organist in Residence at Sapporo Concert Hall in Hokkaido, Japan.
