Storytime With Local Author Katherine Picarde

Join us for a children’s storytime featuring a reading of The Little Ouch by author Katherine Picarde! Circle around in our children’s book section (second floor) where kiddos will enjoy a story about Penelope and how she overcomes her fear of getting the flu shot. Following storytime, children will enjoy a craft activity, receive a few small gifts from the author, and may purchase their very own signed copy of The Little Ouch!

The Little Ouch is a picture book intended for children ages 4-7, which speaks to kids who struggle with anxiety and discomfort when it comes to getting shots. In this quirky tale, Penelope’s dramatic, anxious antics are what young readers have found both relatable and entertaining, especially with the Covid vaccine and flu shot season upon us!
