SHOW/UP: A New Play Festival

This year, SHOW/UP presents four exciting new plays:

Pearl + Bri by Emma Richmond

Two women at very different phases of their lives— one very young and one very old— meet in the administrative offices of Rock Springs Community Recreation Center and connect over a love of dance as they each await disciplinary action from higher-ups in the facility.

Don’t Cry Over Spilled Soup by Alli Salwen

A mother, daughter, cousin, and uncle spend Christmas Eve in a Chinese restaurant together for the first time since the father’s death, forcing them to confront different ways of mourning. The only person eating soup is a ghost.

I Wish I Could Tell Them by Anna Jones

A great aunt and her niece are brought together through time to converse with each other and discuss the hardships of being women of color and the community that comes with it.

Bed And by Ian Reid

The year is 2024, and it’s been over five weeks since it started raining. The owners of a hybrid McDonald’s / Bed and Breakfast in South London and their two weary guests are trapped within the golden arches’ glow: searching for a way out, trying to make small talk, and grappling with the things they’ve left outside.
