The Pops Concert begins at 7:30 and this year’s theme is “The Great American Songbook”. The Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Orlando Cela, will feature music by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, a musical salute to Frank Sinatra, and a special guest appearance by jazz singer David Alexis. The Arlington-Belmont Chorale, conducted by Barry Singer and Sarah Seeber, will perform Duke Ellington’s Take the A Train and Mood Indigo, Cole Porter’s Anything Goes and Begin the Beguine, and other American songbook favorites. As a special feature, Arlington High School Madrigal singers will join the orchestra and chorale for Harold Arlen’s Over the Rainbow.
Tickets: Strawberries and ice cream $5. Concert: Table seats on the floor $20, balcony seats $10 for adults and $5 for children. For tickets, please contact the Philharmonic box office at: 781-234-8377. Tickets may also be purchased at the door (reserved tickets for tables recommended).
Wheelchair accessible. Masking optional. Beverages will be available for sale during the concert; there is also a water filling station in the Town Hall lobby and we encourage attendees to bring refillable water bottles.
