Description:
Join the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society for a day long introduction to the art of polymer clay and beading! This is an ideal class to discover the mysteries of polymer clay. The class is also open to non-beginners who want to advance their basic knowledge. Examples of some of the techniques you will learn or refine in this class are the skinner blend and other color blends, creating canes including bullseye canes, and making jelly rolls and stripes to create unique beads. You will also learn how to use bead rollers to size your beads and assemble basic jewelry through a wire earring project. The instructor will provide demonstrations and answer questions you have about your work as you and your classmates spend a fun day designing and creating together.
Materials fee:
A $20 materials fee will be invoiced separately to each student.
About the instructor:
Laurie Lloyd is a long term member of the Polymer Clay and Beading Guild at LexArt. In addition to her detailed work in the medical technology industry, Laurie is a polymer artist who specializes in colorful floral beads and pens. She has been teaching polymer classes for a decade, and loves the open creative space that polymer classes provide. Her favorite part of the day is seeing the “wow moment” from her students when their work is finished.
