"Origins"

Sonic Liberation Players begin their fourth season with a concert celebrating many of its origins.

We present two early works by Morton Feldman (“Durations 1” and “Vertical Thoughts 2”) and three rarely-performed and incredibly varied pieces by John Cage (“Aria”, “Child of Tree”, and “Five”).

James Tenney’s virtuosic violin-piano duo “Diaphonic Toccata” and Lucky Mosko’s phantasmagorical cello-piano work “Rais Murad” reference our CalArts roots.

And finally, the founder and director of SLP, Trevor Berens, has revamped his work “Cella Duru” for full ensemble.
