New England Mosaic Society Members Exhibition

The Wedeman Gallery of Lasell University (47 Myrtle Avenue, Newton, MA) is pleased to present a juried exhibition of contemporary mosaic works featuring New England Mosaic Society (NEMS) artists. The Exhibition will run from September 17th through October 5th, 2019 with an opening reception on September 22nd, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00-4:00 pm.

The exhibition will feature more than 60 works by 46artists from across New England.  NEMS members Michael Ferreira, Debora Aldo and Carrie Fradkin juried the show.  “By having the best of our work in one space, it brings us together not only as a mosaic community but also allows us to educate and express ourselves to the public. As with any medium, each artist has their own distinct style expressed in the materials they use, their style of cutting the tesserae, or how they lay their tesserae. We hope that the pubic enjoys viewing our modern interpretations of the ancient art form of mosaics.” (Michael Ferreira, President, New England Mosaic Society).  There will be a People’s Choice award that will be voted on during the course of the show, with announcement of the winner at the end of the show.
