Music at Eden's Edge presents Music Speaks! Inside the Frame / Masques, Intrigues and Entertainments

Masques, Intriques & Entertainments is a feast of delights! The bill of fare features Gulliver Suite by Telemann (yes, THAT Gulliver!), an entertaining set of musical vignettes derived from Jonathan Swift’s novel, Gulliver’s Travels; as well as Sonata Representativa by Heinrich Biber, in which a pastoral musical setting frames the sounds of animals through the voice of the violin. Accomplished Baroque cellist Sarah Freiberg will offer an early Italian solo sonata by Dall’Abaco, and then a most hysterical conversation between a determined pessimist and an incurable optimist will ensue in C. P E Bach’s Sonata Sanguineus and Melancholicus. Rounding out this program of caprice and invention will be the beloved Spring Concerto from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, arranged and performed by Baroque Violinist Julia McKenzie.
