MMMH 75th Annual Summer Recital Series - Thomas Sheehan

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tom was responsible for playing the Cathedral’s daily choral services, and thereafter their immensely popular weekly virtual services.

Sheehan has served on the music staff of the Memorial Church, Harvard University; Saint Mark’s Church in Philadelphia, PA; and Trinity Episcopal Church in Princeton, NJ. He is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where he received diplomas in organ and harpsichord, studying with Alan Morrison and Leon Schelhase. He received both the Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, as a student of Ken Cowan. Sheehan is currently a doctoral candidate in organ at Boston University as a student of Peter Sykes. In 2016 he was named one of The Diapason’s “20 under 30,” a list of rising artists in the field of organ playing. He has performed as an organist throughout the United States, in Canada, and in Europe, including recital appearances in Reykjavík, Toulouse, and Montréal.
