Minni Design + Wine: Modern Calligraphy

Let’s get lettering! Local calligrapher Liz Roessler will welcome grown-ups of all ages and artistic abilities to Minni for an inspiring evening of wine and a modern take on pointed pen calligraphy. Liz will offer patient and personal instruction as participants learn how to properly hold and use a dip pen with acrylic ink. Each participant will leave the studio with their finished pieces, a calligraphy kit and detailed instructions for later at-home exploration.

Liz Roessler has been obsessed with letters ever since she could hold a crayon. As a young girl Liz spent endless imaginative hours at the Boston Public Library, pulling all the beginner’s lettering books off the shelves to trace and emulate classic calligraphy styles. After many years of perfecting her self-taught method and style, Liz began offering custom calligraphy design work, including envelope art, seating cards, menus, monogram and logo design, and more. For 30 years, she has provided professional hand-lettering work to a wide variety of clients, including individuals, companies and nonprofits of all types and sizes.
